Your performance against Kirchdorf was great. How did you experience the game?
The game wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be. I thoughtthe American leaving would bring the team down but it didn’t. We stood together and fought until the end like we were supposed to.
What can you add to the team’s effort during the next four games?
The next four games I can promise the team that I will give all in each of the games and I will not change the way I play. I play every game to win and I will bring excitement to the next four games and I will play my heart out for the team.
How did the young QBs do?
I think the young quarterbacks stepped up to the challenge and played pretty good. They werenot scared and didn’t let any bad play get to them; they just kept fighting and the more they play the more and more comfortable they will get and the easier their role will get for them.
What do they need to do better than during the Kirchdorf-game?
I think in the next four games the quarterbacks just have to stay calm and focus on each play one at a time and we will be alright.
Why are US-players so important for German teams?
To me US-players are important for German teams because they have a little more experience so with the American on the team it makes the Germans a little more comfortable because they can learn from not just the coaches but from the players that are around their age and have been around the game a little longer.
How will you prepare yourself for the game in Fürstenfeldbruck?
To prepare myself for the next game I will work-out to get my body ready and show up ready to practice and to get my teammates ready.
Do you look forward to August 26, when the Phantoms will host the Nuremberg Rams?
Yes! I look forward to August 26, I’ll show up ready to play just as I do in all other games!
„Wir kämpfen als Team weiter“
Du hast gegen Kirchdorf sehr gut gespielt. Wie hast Du die Begegnung erlebt?
Das Spiel war nicht so hart wie ich dachte. Ich dachte, die Amerikaner würden uns durch ihre Abreise komplett demotivieren, aber das taten sie nicht. Wir standen als Einheit auf dem Platz und haben bis zum Ende gekämpft, so wie es sein muss.
Was kannst Du am Ende der Saison noch ins Team einbringen?
Ich kann sagen, dass ich das Team in den nächsten vier Spielen so gut unterstützen werde, wie ich nur kann. Ich werde so spielen, wie ich jedes Spiel angehe. Ich spiele jedes Spiel, um zu gewinnen und ich werde versuchen, mein Enthusiasmus weiterzugeben und mir die Seele aus dem Leib spielen.
Wie fandest Du unsere jungen Quarterbacks?
Ich denke, unsere jungen Quarterbacks haben sich der Herausforderung gestellt und ganz ordentlich gespielt. Sie haben Mut bewiesen und haben sich von schlechten Plays nicht entmutigen lassen. Sie haben weiter gekämpft und je mehr sie eingesetzt werden, desto schneller werden sie die Rolle ausfüllen, die sie einnehmen müssen.
Was müssen sie in Zukunft besser machen als gegen Kirchdorf?
Sie müssen in den nächsten vier Spielen nur ruhig und konzentriert bleiben. Ein Spielzug nach dem anderen, dann wird alles gut.
Wie wichtig sind US-Spieler für deutsche Teams?
Für mich sind sie wichtig, weil sie ein wenig mehr Erfahrung haben als deutsche Spieler. Und mit amerikanischen Spielern im Team fühlen sich Deutsche sicherer, weil sie nicht nur von den Coaches lernen können, sondern von gleichaltrigen Spielern, die Football eben etwas länger betreiben als sie selbst.
Wie bereitest Du Dich auf das Spiel gegen Fürstenfeldbruck vor?
Work-out, um meinen Körper fit zu halten. Ich gehe ins Training, motiviere meine Mitspieler und gebe dann mein Bestes.
Freust Du Dich auf das letzte Heimspiel am 26. August gegen die Nürnberg Rams?
Ja, sehr! Ich freue mich darauf. Ich werde so bereit für dieses Spiel sein wie für alle anderen.
